FACULTY OF ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING

FKEKK… where engineering meets the future

FKEKK offers undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. Established in 2000, FKEKK provides a sound foundation for students to transition from higher education into the workforce. Students learn from experienced lecturers and industry experts.

FACULTY OF ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING

Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) was established in early 2001 and it was operational by 22 June 2001. Initially, FKE was at a temporary campus in Taman Tasik Utama, Ayer Keroh, Melaka but on 3 May 2005, it was formally moved to the UTeM's main campus in Mukim Durian Tunggal, Melaka.

The Faculty has three (3) departments and they are the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechatronics Engineering and Department of Diploma Studies. The course is designed to create a balance between theory and practice in the field of engineering. It is therefore imperative that the lecturers and tutors have the necessary expertise to produce graduates who are academically and technically competent.

FACULTY OF MECHNICAL TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING

The Faculty was established in June 2001 and comprises of four technical leading departments – Department of Thermal-fluids, Department of Structure & Materials, Department of Design & Innovation and Department of Automotive. Our goal is to be an ideal, dynamic and innovative faculty as well as to produce highly competent mechanical engineering graduates who have good moral and ethical values in their respective fields.

We have over 100 full-time academic staff, additional contract lecturers and technical support team looking after the strong needs of student community. Our objective is to offer high quality academic program by implementing Outcome Based Education (OBE) in mechanical engineering discipline in line with the current industrial requirement. We are also continuously producing competent graduates who have the ability to think critically, innovative and able to provide problem solution in the process of fulfilling human capital requirement.

FACULTY OF INDUSTRIAL AND MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING

Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering was officially established on the 22nd of June 2001 after approval by the then Ministry of Education. The first course offered was Bachelor of Manufacturing Engineering (Manufacturing Process) in November 2001. However, foreseeing the nations fast-moving industrial development and its need for professional human resources in manufacturing engineering, the Faculty has added up new courses in the various fields of manufacturing engineering with the approval from the ministry starting from 14 April 2002.

FACULTY OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY

Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTMK) was one of the earliest formed faculty at Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) on the 1st of December 2000. The Faculty started to operate on 22 June 2001 with its pioneer batch of students of academic session 2001/2002. Since 1st February 2007, KUTKM is known as Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM)

FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOPRENEURSHIP

Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), which was incorporated in December 2000, is the 14th Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) in Malaysia. The Faculty of Technology Management & Technopreneurship (FPTT) was established on 19th March 2009 and has started its operations at the City Campus, in the heart of the World Heritage City of Historic Melaka.

FPTT has indeed created a history for being the sixth faculty to offer programs at Bachelor Degree level at UTeM. With its establishment, the faculty integrate a technology and business approach in enhancing the knowledge and skills of human capital. The FPTT curriculum was developed to address issues and challenges in managing the the force of globalization, rapid pace of technological changes, market and competition, product complexity, pressure of production cost, high cost and risk of research and development, and government regulations and market diversity.

CENTRE FOR LANGUAGE LEARNING

Centre for Language Learning promotes communicative and intercultural competence in its curriculum. The aim is to empower students to use the target language in order to fully understand information, to express themselves orally and in writing and to communicate with native and non-native speakers of the language.
