TEACHING AND LEARNING
UTeM provides various sophisticated facilities such as lecture halls, hi-tech laboratories such as Robotic & Automation Lab, High Voltage Lab, Thermodynamics & Technology Lab, Instrumentation lab, Multimedia lab, Smart lab, Language lab, Chemistry Lab and state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Centre.
 
CHANCELLERY BUILDING
The ‘signature building’ of UTeM, houses the main administration of the university which are Chancellery, Registrar, Bursary and Students and Alumni Affairs (HEPA). The building adopted traditional Malay courtyard house with the touch of modern design and hi-tech materials such as glass and aluminium cladding.
 
MOSQUE
The mosque can accommodate up to 4,000 people at one time. With the area of 5,737 m2, the mosque is equipped with administration room, reading room, and main prayer hall. The mosque adopted Middle East style interior design with Asian touch on the exterior.
 
SPORTS COMPLEX
The Sports Complex consists of a stadium for athletics track and a tournament size football field that can accommodate 500 people. The sports hall comprises indoor badminton courts, basketball courts and a gymnasium. In addition, there are astro turf hockey arena, rugby, football fields as well as tennis, softball, volleyball and netball courts within the complex area.
 
CYBER HALL @ KNOWLEDGE AND COMMUNICATION SERVICES CENTRE
Located at the Knowledge and Communication Services Centre, students will get fast and secured internet connection in a conducive environment. The Cyber Hall provide up to 120 PCs with two training rooms with 40 PCs each. Additional services like printing and specialized PC for graphics and multimedia are also provided in the Cyber Hall. Open from Monday to Friday (8.00 am – 8.00 pm).
 
GRAND HALL
The Grand Hall as its name suggest, can accommodate up to 4,000 people at a time. The Grand Hall is used for convocation ceremony, university official ceremony and also served as an examination hall. Its two storey building comprises of the lobby, main hall, dining hall and VVIP room. The Grand Hall created an unforgettable memory when former Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir and wife received their honorary doctorate during the 5th Convocation Ceremony in 2009.
 
HEALTH CENTRE
UTeM Health Centre was established on 9 June 2004 with its main objective of providing the best medical facilities for students and staff. The Health Centre also initiates healthy lifestyle and well-being through structured activities and programmes. The Health Centre is a unit under the Student Affairs Office and operates at all three campuses: the Main Campus, the City Campus and the Technology Campus.

LIBRARY

The Library in Main Campus had a total collection of more than 40,000 titles. The collection includes the engineering reference materials related to the area of the electrical, electronics, computer engineering, mechanical, manufacturing and ICT. In addition, there are also collections of other scientific fields such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and general readings. The expansion of this resource of knowledge has made it possible to enhance the features of the existing facilities to meet the research, teaching and learning needs.

The Library also has opened a branch in the City Campus, Jalan Hang Tuah, to provide reference facilities for the students based there.

The Library has adopted the Integrated Library Managements Utility (ILMU) to manage its computer system. This system enables the users to gain convenient and quick access to the information of the facilities or collections available in the Library. The search for the Library collection is available through accessing the WebOPAC.

 
CAFETERIA
Cafeteria in UTeM celebrates the rich and varied culinary traditions of the Malaysian cuisine by offering delicious dishes for all. There are three cafeterias in Main Campus, two which are dedicated for the students and a café for staffs.
Have a casual, local dining experience as you savor roti canai, nasi lemak and sandwiches for breakfast and get the best of nasi campur during lunchtime.
 
STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTRE
Student Activity Centre is administered by Students and Alumni Affairs Office (HEPA) to facilitate casual and professional interactions amongst the student clubs and societies in UTeM. The three storey building supplies space that encourages student group collaborates to better support the missions and goals of the student bodies.
Students and community members use the area for a wide variety of activities including cultural training, orchestra training centre and counseling centre. In addition, there are also convenience shop operated by Koperasi UTeM Berhad and a post office.
 
SHUTTLE SERVICES
Do not worry about the transportation to UTeM campuses as Students and Alumni Affairs (HEPA) is providing comfortable, air-conditioned buses for students.
The campus shuttle provides no-fare transportation from hostels to Main Campus and City Campus (vice-versa). The shuttle operates as early as from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, with service every half an hour. Additional shuttle services are provided for special semester programmes, final exams and activities during weekends and semester breaks.
 
ACCOMMODATION
UTeM provides on-campus accommodation to its student in three residential colleges. All residential colleges are well-equipped with furniture to accommodate and facilitate the students. Every residential college are monitored by the staff members and well guarded by the security personnel.
 
  • STUDENT HOSTELS
    UTeM provides On-Campus accomodation to its students in three residential colleges/ hostels with complete facilities. There are different hostels for women and men. Men are not allowed to visit the hostels for women, and vice-versa. Overnight visitors are not allowed but your friends are welcome to visit you at daytime. There should be silence after 12 midnight and all the residents are required to return to their hostels by that time.

  • OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMODATION
    If you prefer staying outside the campus, please make sure you are clear about all the costs involved in your housing arrangements. Usually, water and electricity bills are not included in the rent. Be also prepared for paying deposit, usually worth of one month rent. Electricity is costly in Malaysia, so do not leave lights or air conditioning on when leaving the house.

UTeM is committed to providing continuous internet services to all its campuses and facilities by providing broadband and wifi access to all its students and staff members. UTeM is also continuously expanding its internet services and facilities to meet connectivity demands through its various upgrading projects.

UTeM has introduced a number of online services, such as the SMP Student Portal, in which students can check and organize their personal schedules and information in a centralized online database. UTeM also has an e-learning and online community portal, where students can organize and coordinate their schedules, announcements and activities.
