As the Centre for Languages and Human Development, we are empowered with the responsibility to fulfil our roles in advancing the domains of languages and human development among the UTeM graduates. We prepare students in the fields related to language such as Foundation English, Technical English and English for Professional Communication including third languages, such as Mandarin, Arabic and Japanese.

We are also responsible for shaping and developing the physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social aspects of individuals. We believe that human competencies and skills will be in the forefront, if human capital is pruned appropriately. In the quest to realize this goal, experienced and reputable academicians teach students with the sole intention of helping them grow, develop and succeed in their respective fields.

The Centre is also known as the centre for developing soft skills. Here the focus is on embedding soft skills in the technical subjects with the hope that students transfer them into life-long learning skills.

This transformation of knowledge and skills is created to accomplish the mission of the University in producing highly competent human capital in line with the needs of the Nation.
