ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is administered by a Dean and assisted by two Deputy Deans, Heads of Department, Laboratory Manager, Chief Assistant Registrar, Assistant Registrar, academic staffs, office administrative staffs and laboratory support staffs. The Administrative Office of FKM is located at Level 3 Academic Buliding, Industrial Campus, where the office of Dean, Deputy Deans, Heads of Department, Chief Assistant Registrar, Assistant Registrar and administrative support staff are located. 

Currently FKM has five departments, namely Department of Thermal-Fluid, Department of Structure & Materials, Department of Design & Innovation, Department of Automotive and Department of Diploma Studies. Each Head of Department is entrusted and responsible for the academic activities and physical development of infrastructure and facilities.

 The core activities of the faculty are based on the delivery of knowledge in respective engineering fields. Lecturers are experts in their own research field as well as involved in industrial collaboration. It is expected that most of the academic staffs are fully qualified academically and professionally. Diploma programme is supported by academic staffs who are also involved in undergraduate programmes. The routine operation and management of laboratories at FKM is handled by a Laboratory Manager who is assisted by several Head of Laboratory, Assistant Engineer and Technicians. 

The Dean is assisted by two Deputy Deans who are responsible in academic, research and post graduate studies. The dean office administration is supported by an administrative unit headed by a Chief Assistant Registrar. The clerical work of administrative unit is executed by a group of administrative assistant.
