Welcome to Faculty of Mechanical Engineering! The Faculty was established in June 2001 and comprises of four technical leading departments – Department of Thermal-fluids, Department of Structure & Materials, Department of Design & Innovation  and Department of Automotive. Our goal is to be an ideal, dynamic and innovative faculty as well as to produce highly competent mechanical engineering graduates which have good moral and ethical values in their respective fields.

We have over 100 full-time academic staff, additional contract lecturers and technical support team looking after the strong needs of student community. Our objective is to offer high quality academic program by implementing Outcome Based Education (OBE) in mechanical engineering discipline in line with the current industrial requirement. We are also continuously to produce competent graduates whose have ability on critical thinking, innovative and able to provide problem solution in the process of fulfilling human capital requirement.

We deliver an extensive and diverse range of undergraduates coursework and postgraduates mixmode programs. To support this needs, the Faculty has developed laboratory work to enhance the understanding of the theory given during lecture. The activities have been developed for students so that it will not only provide better understanding of the concepts learned but also skills in equipment handling and ability to solve problem given.

AIRBUS FLY YOUR IDEAS COMPETITION 2011

ANOTHER GREAT NEWS GUYS! The Airbus Fly Your Ideas (FYI) competition is a biennial contest that challenges students worldwide to develop new ideas for a greener aviation industry. This challenge is open to students of any age, nationality, gender or discipline - engineering to marketing, business to science, philosophy to design. MALAYSIA UNIVERSITY ROBOT COMPETITION - MURoC (2nd EDITION 2011)

UniMAP proudly to organized a INSTITUTE OF HIGHER LEARNING OF MALAYSIA ROBOT COMPETITION (MURoC) from 25th to 27th February 2011 in UniMAP, Perlis. This competition is open to all IHL students in Malaysia to produce innovatives ideas as well as technology exchange between university. IDEA: MALAYSIAN INVENTOR'S CHALLENGE

MOSTI in collaboration with SIRIM and PROTON will organized a reality programme called TV IDEA: MALAYSIAN INVENTOR'S CHALLENGE. This new type of reality tv programme is open to all Malaysians and to presents their innovative idea through functional model or prototype. INNOVATION COMPETITION - INNOVATIVE MALAYSIA 2010

Please to be informed that MOSTI will organized an Innovative Competition inconjunction with Innovative Malaysia 2010 by the theme Celebrating Creativity. Competition is open to all Malaysians and consist of 6 categories: Young Designers, Community, Women, Secondary School, Primary School and People with Disabilities.
