DEAN'S FOREWORD

I warmly greet you SELAMAT DATANG (Welcome) to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering's (FKE) website, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

Electrical engineering forms the fundamentals to the development and application of information technology as well as to the efficient use of energy. There will be significant growth in research, development and manufacturing activities in the field of electrical engineering and it constitutes the basis for valuable and worthwhile careers for well-qualified graduates.

FKE is one of the faculties at UTeM. The Faculty is headed by a Dean; it comprises five (5) major departments, each responsible to conduct relevant courses. These departments are Industrial Power (IP), Control, Instrumentation & Automation (CIA), Power Electronics & Drives (PED), Mechatronics Engineering (ME) and Diploma Studies Programme.

The Faculty offers a wide range of laboratories, fully equipped with the latest teaching and learning equipment with the ratio of two (2) to three (3) students per station. This arrangement will suit the teaching and learning concepts based on problem centered, action learning and practical application as stipulated in the Practice and Application Oriented approach.

The Faculty is aiming to become a center for promoting excellence in education and research in the areas of electrical engineering. There are boundless opportunities for new ideas, discovery and the meeting of minds. The valuable experience will enable the students to discover their full potential while at the same time to prepare themselves for the future.
