Welcome to Electrical Faculty's Laboratories, the place where most of the action take place!

Under normal circumstances, you will undergo 3 hours each week of the laboratory session for every core subject in this faculty. That means, you will spend almost 3 quarter of your study life in UTeM in the laboratories! That can be quite hectic!

Don't worry, in order to make you feel at home, we provide the most modern state-of-the-art equipment in our labs, aided with computer based training facilities, not to mention fully air-conditioned buildings. You will find the learning process in our labs as fun and interesting as when you saw bubbles for the first time back then when you were just a little kid.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering provides 25 laboratories and 4 workshops that are
capable to facilitate long term demand of academic programmes offer by the faculty.
These laboratories are equipped with most up-to-date instrument that allows the
application of computer- aided teaching method. The faculty also allocates 2
laboratories for the purpose of research and development. The laboratories and
workshops are:

Power System 1 & 2 Labs, Protection System Lab, Energy Efficiency Lab, Electrical and
Electronics 1 & 2 Labs, Electrical Technology 1& 2 Labs, Advanced Power Lab,
Generation and Transmission Lab, High Voltage Lab, Control System Lab, CIA Simulation
Lab, PLC Process Control Lab, Measurement Lab, Instrumentation Lab, Sensor and
Transducer Lab, Robotics and Automation La, Power Electronics 1& 2 Labs, Power
Electronics Simulation Lab, Power Electronics Application Lab, Electrical Machine 1 &
2 Labs, Machine Driver Lab.

Workshops: Industrial Power, Control, Measurement & Automation (CIA,) Mechatronics,
Power Electronics.

Research Laboratories: Power Quality & Intelligent Power System, Machine Driver,
Advanced Energy System.

The labs that are already available are fully equipped with machines and instruments similar to those found in the industries. We make the standard quality of our laborotaries to be our priority as we emphasis on practical based learning. You will have the opportunity to really get involved with the experiments as the ratio of the equipment in our labs to student are at most 2:1.
