The admission of the undergraduate students is normally done through UPU. For those who are interested in post-graduate studies however, can directly register at any time of the year through our The Center of Graduate Studies (PPS).

Admission Requirement

B.Eng in Electrical Engineering

The qualifications for a candidate to enter the Bachelor’s Degree course are as follows :-

::Minimum Requirement for STPM Candidate

Fulfils University’s General Requirement

• Pass SPM/equivalent reasonably well;
• Pass with honours in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM/equivalent level;
• Pass the STPM examination with at least :
  • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in the subject of General Studies; and
  • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
    and
• Has taken the Malaysia University English Test (MUET)
  

With,

Specific Program Requirement

• Passed once in the STPM examination with at least:
• Pass with at least a Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in the following subjects:
  • Additional Mathematics / Advance Additional Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

::Equivalent Qualification

Fulfils University’s General Requirement

• Pass SPM/equivalent reasonably well;
• Pass with honours in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at the SPM/equivalent level;
• Has a Diploma qualification or equivalent acknowledged by the Malaysian Government and by the University’s Senate; and
• Has taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

• Relevant Diploma with exceptionally well result (CGPA > 3.00) from accredited institutions.

Or

• Pass the Polytechnic Certificate with CGPA > 3.50 in relevant fields and approved by the University’s Senate

Diploma in Electrical Engineering

::General Requirement (for all programs)

• Pass SPM or equivalent with a minimum 5Cs for the subjects inclusives of:

  i. Bahasa Melayu, and
  ii. Mathematics

• Pass English in SPM.

  xiii. Geometry and Automotive Drawing
  xiv. Geometry and Building Structure Drawing / Air-conditioning
  xv. Engineering Drawing
  xvi. Geography / Biology
  xvii. Arts / Design
  xviii. Principles of Accounttancy or Basic Economic or Commerce
  xix. History
  xx. English / Higher Arabic Language
  xxi. Islamic Studies / Moral or Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah or Al-Quran & As-Sunnah Studies

• One of the subject must be in the range of i-viii; OR,
• A related Malaysian Polytechnic Certificate or equivalent.

(Priority will be given to candidates who fulfill the requirement in 1 examination).

M.Sc in Electrical Engineering (by research)

The minimum requirement is as follows:

• Good B.Eng in Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) with work experience

PhD in Electrical Engineering (by research)

The minimum requirement is as follows:

• Good M.Sc in Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) with work experience
